Today after our post-run coffee celebration at the best coffee house in the Tri-Cities (Roasters Coffee) we started talking about future running plans. This is what went down.
- May 6th – Bloomsday 2012!! – A race known throughout the world (nope, this isn’t a typo) held in our backyard (well Spokane :). The race starts Sunday morning and includes about 50,000 participants. This race is SO MUCH FUN!! There is a runners expo the day before (which is bombtastic). We are planning on going up Saturday morning for some shopping, expo fun and a time of awesomeness! DO NOT let the distance terrify you if you are new to running. There is plenty of time between now and May to get ready for it (7.46 miles)
- July 20-21st – Ragnar!! – So what is it? (this according to their website: Ragnar is the overnight running relay race that makes testing your limits a team sport. A team is made up of 6-12 individuals; each individual runs 3 legs. The legs of the race vary in difficulty and distance, from 3-8 miles, allowing elite and novice runners to run together. Over 2 days and 1 night, teams run across 200 miles of the country’s most scenic terrain. Pair that with crazy costumes, inside jokes, a great finish line party and unforgettable stories. Some call it a slumber party without sleep, pillows or deodorant. We call it Ragnar.)
We need a total of 12 runners and 2 van drivers. Each runner will run a total of 3 running legs. You can check out the distances at the Ragnar website. This looks like an amazing adventure and one where we can really spread the Love of God to fellow runners!! Check out the website and if you are interested send me an email @ firstname.lastname@example.org.
